Will join politics if challenged: Prakash Raj
He claimed that those who want to divide the people on communal lines should also know that he cannot be cowed down by their trolling or threats.
Bengaluru. Lashing out at communal elements in some political parties, multi-lingual star Prakash Raj on Sunday asserted that he is even ready to take a plunge into politics if someone (communal elements) challenges him to do it.
After receiving the Person of the Year award, presented by the Bengaluru Press Club, he said, “Of late, communal politics is gaining importance in the country. We (sensible people) must raise voice against such authoritarian and majoritarian politics which was prevalent during the Hitler's regime, which was known for its chauvinistic stance that a single religion must rule the world. But it is gaining ground in our country too. We must not let this happen. Therefore, if someone challenges me to take a plunge into politics, I am ready for it."
He quickly added that he neither has any political aspiration nor liking for a particular party, however, he would always be with those who oppose communal and fascist forces.
He claimed that those who want to divide the people on communal lines should also know that he cannot be cowed down by their trolling or threats. “I will continue to raise my voice even more strongly against them in the days to come," he said.
He said that communal forces that use violent means to achieve their version of development are coming to Karnataka to rule us and not to administer us. “These violent forces must be taught a lesson by defeating them. We must visit each individual house in the state to educate about these forces and this will help us in defeating them in the forthcoming elections,” he explained.
