Vijayawada: Even as the TD supremo and Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has been openly conducting parliament segment-wise reviews for the last few days, to select candidates for the ensuing polls, YSRC chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy seems to be doing the job on the quiet.

YSRC insiders hinted that Mr Reddy had almost finalised the candidates for both the Assembly and Parliament segments. Except for a few seats where there are multiple aspirants staking claim for the party ticket, the YSRC chief finalised the rest of the candidates’ list. The candidates who got a positive signal from the party president have also started working in their respective constituencies to make their presence felt and have even launched their campaigns.

The senior members of YSRC campaign, including poll strategist Prashant Kishore’s Indian Political Action Committee (IPAC), have also submitted their feedback and inputs over the candidates’ selection.

They are also holding talks with groups in various segments to quell dissidence that may affect poll prospects of the party. “Our party supremo has almost finalised candidates for all constituencies,  except a few where we are expecting some inductions in the coming days. There are also a few segments that are problematic due to multiple aspirants. Other than those, the list is almost finalised. The list should be out as and when the poll notification is out. In most of the segments, the aspirants have already started their work,” said a YSRC leader.

Mr Reddy will fine-tune the candidates’ list after he completes the ongoing Samara Sankharavam campaign in all the districts.  As part of the Samara Sankharavam, Mr Reddy has been addressing and interacting with booth-level workers of the party in each district.
