Congress sure of win in 2019
Cadres continue with party though leaders left, says Raghuveera.
Nellore: APCC president N. Raghuveera Reddy claimed that the Congress cadres remained with the party though leaders migrated to other parties after enjoying power during Congress rule. He said that those left the party are certain to disappear from politics by next elections.
He was addressing a well attended party meeting held in connection with the SC, ST, BC and minorities "Samajika Nyaya Sadhikarita Yatra" as part of 125th birth anniversary year long celebrations of Babasaheb Dr Ambedkar in Nellore on Thursday. He predicted Congress flag will fly high first in Nellore after 2019 elections.
Reminding that Congress always gave preference to SC, ST, BC and minority communities, he alleged that the Telugu Desam has not given ministry to minorities or STs in the Cabinet. He said that Congress would fight on behalf of the downtrodden especially SC, ST, BC and minorities.
Speaking on the occasion, former Union minister Panabaka Lakshmi asserted that Congress will launch an agitation to secure special status for AP. She accused BJP for ignoring its own promise with respect to special status after coming to power. She said that the raw deal to SC, ST, BC and minorities led Congress to launch Samajika Nyaya Sadhikarita Yatra. DCC president Panabaka Krishnaiah also spoke.
