Lok Sabha polls 2019: Rahul Gandhi to address poll rally in Tiruchy

TIRUCHY: The campaigns of all candidates gained momentum in Tiruchy, Karur, Perambalur, Chidambaram (reserved) Mayiladuthurai and Nagapattinam constituencies and by-elections to the Tiruvarur assembly segments in the central districts of Tamil Nadu.
For the Tiruchy Lok Sabha constituency, there is hectic campaigning by Congress candidate S. Thirunavukkarasar with active support of the DMK and its allies. AMMK candidate Ms. Sarubala Thondaiman, DMDK candidate Dr Elangovan with support of the ruling AIADMK, and PMK, besides Makkal Neethi Maiya (MNM) candidate Anantharaja, are also very busy.
DMK president M K Stalin is expected to campaign in favour of Thirunavukkarasar shortly and Congress president Rahul Gandhi is likely to address an election rally at Tiruchy.
Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami campaigned at Nagapattinam, Mayiladuthurai and Tiruvarur on Saturday and is expected to campaign at Tiruchy on Monday for the AIADMK front candidates.

For the Karur Lok Sabha, while Deputy Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam and his cabinet colleague Dr C. Vijayabaskar campaigned for party nominee and Lok Sabha Deputy Speaker M. Thambidurai, DMK chief M.K. Stalin, party bigwig Senthil Balaji and others completed their first round of campaigning in support of Ms. Jothimani, Congress nominee.
