HYDERABAD: State BJP president Bandi Sanjay Kumar said that BRS and Congress would strike an alliance before the Assembly elections while BJP would go it alone. Several senior Congress leaders have been hinting at such a possibility, he said.

All surveys, including those initiated by Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao, indicated that BJP will form the next government in Telangana, he said. He was speaking while welcoming leaders from BRS and other parties from Sangareddy into the BJP fold here on Saturday.

Sanjay wondered why Rao was silent on the TSPSC and liquor scams, in which his son and daughter are facing charges. “Why is he reluctant to allow an inquiry by sitting judge into the TSPSC muddle,” he asked.

In the name of offering Rythu Bandhu scheme, the BRS government has stopped subsidies and supply of free urea and seeds, he said.

In order to divert the attention of people from the confession of Sukesh Chandrashekar, accused in Delhi liquor scam, who had said that he had handed over Rs 75 crore cash to the BRS, Rao has brought some Maharashtra leaders into BRS fold, he said.

Instead of abolishing the TSPSC panel and dismissing K.T. Rama Rao from the Cabinet for misleading people with regard to the question papers leak, the state government is trying to make scapegoats of lower-grade employees, he alleged. “How can the existing TSPSC panel conduct exams when its secretary has been summoned by SIT,” he said.

Meanwhile, Sanjay's tweet over unemployment allowance went viral on Saturday. He tagged a photograph of text message in which a youth received a message of Rs 3,016 credited to his account as unemployment dole. A smiling photo of Chandrashekar Rao is also tagged in the picture that recalls Rao’s 2018 poll promise that unemployed youth would get a monthly allowance of Rs 3,106 on retaining power.
