HYDERABAD: As part of the nationwide 'Jai Bharat Satyagraha' launched by the Congress to protest against the disqualification of Rahul Gandhi as Lok Sabha member, the frontal organisations of the TPCC held demonstrations at the statue of Mahatma Gandhi in Gandhi Bhavan premises.

TPCC OBC Cell chairman Nuthi Srikanth, minorities department chairman Shaik Abdullah Sohail, SC Cell chairman N. Preetam and ST Cell chairman Jaganlal Naik and other leaders participated in the protest.

Srikanth ridiculed the way the BJP was associating Rahul Gandhi’s statements on the surname of ‘Modi’, referring to Nirav Modi and Lalit Modi, and claiming that it was an insult to OBCs. "Lalit Modi and Nirav Modi do not belong to BC communities. The BJP government, which is avoiding a caste census, is now discussing OBCs. They are attempting to hide their illicit activities and corrupt allies behind the impoverished OBCs," he said.

Sohail felt that Prime Minister Narendra Modi became infuriated when Rahul Gandhi began naming the culprits and their links to the ruling party. “Instead of addressing Rahul Gandhi's questions regarding the Adani Group's alleged ties to Modi, BJP leaders are creating confusion and attempting to divert the attention of the general public. By targeting Rahul Gandhi, the BJP is trying to conceal its alleged cronyism and corruption," he felt.

SC Cell chairman Preetam asserted that the Congress would continue its protests until a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) was formed to investigate Adani-related issues.
