AIADMK micro-manages poll booths to ensure victory
Booth in-charges have been asked to go door-to-door in their booths and create awareness about the excellent work' done by the AIADMK govt.
Chennai: With the party contesting maximum number of Assembly seats this election ever since its inception, the AIADMK is walking the extra mile to ensure its candidates win in most constituencies by appointing in-charges for every booth and giving them the task of winning over a maximum of 100 voters, especially first timers.
The booth in-charges, mostly young party cadres, have been asked to go door-to-door in their booths and create awareness about the “excellent work” done by the AIADMK government in the last five years and ensure that they vote for the party this election.
Since a booth will have a maximum of 1,500 voters, the party high command feels it would not be a difficult task for the booth in-charges to reach out to the voters and convert them as AIADMK supporters.
The in-charges have been asked to get minimum 20 and maximum 100 new voters to cast their ballot in favour of AIADMK candidates. “Since this election is very important for us since we aim to retain power, the party is unwilling to take any chances.
Besides the booth agents, who manage the particular booth, this time we have the concept of booth in-charge whose main task is get new voters to the party support base,” an AIADMK functionary said. The booth in-charge will have several party cadres, mostly youngsters, to help him in convincing the new and young voters to vote for the AIADMK.
“The party vote bank is always there. But the task for the in-charge is to bring neutral voters or new voters to the party,” the functionary said. The AIADMK is contesting in 227 seats for the first time since 1977 when the party faced its first elections. With seven candidates belonging to various smaller outfits also contesting in two leaves symbol, the AIADMK symbol will be visible in all EVMs across the state.
