Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao is said to have dropped the idea of replacing health minister Etala Rajender.

TRS sources revealed that under instructions from Mr Rao, TRS working president K.T. Rama Rao sought opinions of some ministers and senior leaders with regard to Mr Rajender’s outburst and the ripples it created, especially among backward class circles. Sources disclosed that during discussions, the party leaders felt that the BJP and the Congress were trying to take advantage of the situation of internal strife within the party.

Any hasty decision at this time would give the opposition a handle to flog the ruling party, ahead of the upcoming municipal elections, it was felt. A source revealed that the senior leaders wanted Mr Rama Rao to convey their opinions to the Chief Minister to take a final call. Mr Rama Rao said that Mr Rajender might have been upset by media reports but there was no indication of the CM dropping any minister as of now.
