Ayyanna Patrudu held at Vizag airport

Visakhapatnam: Former minister and Telugu Desam politburo member Ch Ayyanna Patrudu was taken into custody by Krishna district police at Visakhapatnam airport on Friday morning. He arrived from Delhi on an Air India flight at 10.30.

Airport police said the Krishna police picked him up the moment he came out of the airport and put into a vehicle and taken back to Vijayawada. He was accused of making inappropriate comments against chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and other ministers  at a public meeting held at Gannavaram in connection with the Nara Lokesh Yuvagalam padayatra.

TD leaders said Ayyanna Patrudu applied for anticipatory bail at High Court and hoped he would get the bail orders on Thursday evening.

"He should have waited for one more day,’’ a local leader said.
