N Uttam Kumar Reddy, RC Khuntia meet Rahul Gandhi over seats

Hyderabad: Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday held discussions with TPCC president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, AICC general secretary and Telangana Congress affairs in-charge R.C. Khuntia over the finalisation party candidates for the upcoming Assembly elections in Telangana.
The TPCC chief has submitted a list of 51 Assembly constituencies with the names of one candidate each, which will be announced in the first list. They also discussed the seats allotted to the allies of Mahakutami.
The central screening committee of the Congress will meet on Thursday under the chairmanship of Sonia Gandhi to finalise candidates. After the meeting, the list will be given to the TPCC president to announce in Hyderabad.
In the past, the Congress used to announce the candidates from Delhi, but Mr Rahul Gandhi changed the system. From now on, the candidates will be announced only in the respective states, sources said.
