Union Minister G Kishan Reddy participates in the Run for Unity
It is through Patel’s unflinching commitment that Hyd state was freed from the clutches of tyrannical rule, Reddy said
HYDERABAD: To mark Ekta Divas, the birth anniversary of India’s first home minister Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, a ‘Run for Unity’ was organised from People’s Plaza at Tank Bund to Saifabad on Tuesday. Similar runs were held nationwide.
Union minister G. Kishan Reddy participated flagged off the event. Addressing the gathering, he spoke about the role of Sardar Patel's leadership in protecting India's unity, sovereignty and integrity.
Kishan Reddy said, “It is through Sardar Patel’s unflinching commitment and unabated courage that Hyderabad state was freed from the clutches of tyrannical rule and has became an integral part of the Indian Union”.
At the end of the event at Saifabad, the minister paid tribute to Sardar Patel and appreciated the participation of students, bank officers and personnel of the central armed police forces and others for their enthusiastic participation in the event
Kshan Reddy also posted about the event on Twitter, saying, “Participated in #RunFor Unity Marathon in Hyderabad today, in commemoration to mark the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel”.
