After KPCC Chief, AICC General Secretary Warns Leaders For Commenting In Public

Bengaluru: After president of Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee D.K. Shivakumar warned his leaders not to speak on party matters in public that would prompt him to serve notice, general secretary of All India Congress Committee (AICC) Randeep Singh Surjewala on Wednesday cautioned his party leaders not speak in public on matters related to the party and if any violations are found suitable disciplinary action would be initiated against them.

At a press conference in Bengaluru, Surjewala issued a stern warning to leaders asking them to refrain them from commenting in public on party affairs and if anybody spoke in public then it would be an violation of discipline and such violations by leaders will not be tolerated prompting the party to act tough against those violators.

“If needed whip will also be served on erring party leaders,” asserted the AICC general secretary who was in Bengaluru to hold discussions with party leaders on nominees for the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.

He asked the party leaders to discuss any issues related to the party either with him or with the KPCC Chief and not in public and told the party leaders that their voices will be heard by the party leaders.

The AICC general secretary exuded confidence that the Congress party would win in about 20 Lok Sabha seats of the total 28 in Karnataka and said that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and KPCC Chief have assured to bag about 25 Lok Sabha.

Surjewala stated that the 5-guarantee schemes of the Congress party such as free travel for women in State run buses, free power upto 200 units, Rs 2,000 cash benefit scheme for women among others have won hearts of the people which would result in party’s success in ensuing Lok Sabha polls.

A tentative list of nominees would be ready in a fortnight and leaders have been asked to ready the list, he said and assured to complete the appointments to Boards and Corporations after November 17.
