Hyderabad: In a jolt to the BRS in Kamareddy, from where Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao has announced his plan to contest, municipal vice-chairperson Gaddam Indupriya and several leaders joined the Congress in the presence of TPCC chief A. Revanth Reddy in Hyderabad on Tuesday.

They included BRS councillor Chatla Vamshikrishna and local leaders Chandrashekar Reddy, Surya, Surender Reddy, Srikanth, Aravind Kumar.

Incidentally, BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao was campaigning in the district on Tuesday.

Dissidence has been brewing in Kamareddy BRS unit ever since the candidature of Chandrashekar Rao was declared from the constituency. Rama Rao has visited the constituency thrice to quell dissidence.

Two weeks ago, Rama Rao invited the dissident councillors and local leaders to Pragathi Bhavan to pacify them. The councillors were upset at government not releasing funds for the development of their Wards, and BRS MLA Gampa Govardhan not giving them due priority.
