Konda Vishweshwar Reddy seeks details of raid on Jagannath Reddy

The election commission must publicise the documents seized by the I-T department.

Hyderabad: Mr Konda Vishweshwar Reddy who left the TRS and joined the Congress recently has written to the Chief Electoral officer (CEO) for Telangana state Mr Rajat Kumar, requesting him to publish the documents seized from the farmhouse of Mr Jagannath Reddy, a relative of caretaker minister Patnam Mahendar Reddy and Kodangal TRS candidate Patnam Narendar Reddy to bring transparency. 

In a letter he wrote to the election commission on Friday, Mr Reddy said it was believed that a document regarding the payments made to various people including district-level officers and police officers was recovered. 

He said, “We have come to know that a huge amount of cash was seized from the farm house of Mr Jagannath Reddy by the I-T department. Media reported the amount as '51 lakh, but the local people strongly believe the amount was much bigger. It is believed that a document regarding the payments made to different people including district-level officers and police officers was recovered.”

Mr Reddy said that in order to bring transparency and clarity about the raid, the election commission must publicise the documents seized by the I-T department. 

Mr Reddy said that in order to ensure free and fair election in Tandur, he has requested the election commission to consider transferring the revenue divisional officer (RDO) and a few other officials who have been mentioned in the document seized from Mr Jagannath Reddy’s farmhouse.  He said that it would also strengthen the people’s trust on the election commission.
