Kavitha faces jail for corruption and not for people’s cause: BJP
HYDERABAD: The BJP on Thursday said if TRS MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha went to prison, it would be for her personal corrupt activities and not for fighting for the people.
Following Kavitha's comments earlier in the day in connection with the liquor scam, BJP vice-president D.K. Aruna said in a release, "Kavitha launched an unwarranted attack against the BJP fearing that her crimes would be exposed. The Kalvakuntla family is desperately trying to gain people’s sympathy. If no law was broken by them then where is the need to fear ED or CBI or other investigation agencies?”
Aruna added, "It is surprising that she is trying to make it sound like she is ready to go to jail because she is fighting for the people of Telangana."
Meanwhile, party MLA Etala Rajendar said that the TRS and Kavitha "must explain why they spread their corruption to Delhi and that too for liquor business. The TRS, which did not have any funds in 2014 and now claims to have `870 crore as party funds then it should explain the source of this money."
