HYDERABAD: A day after the Enforcement Directorate (ED) named TRS MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha in the remand report in the Delhi liquor scam, the daughter of Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao slammed the BJP government at the Centre, claiming that the ED arrived before Prime Minister Narendra Modi in poll-bound states and that she was not afraid of being arrested.

Speaking to the media at her residence here, Kavitha claimed that the ED ahd deliberately included her name in the Amit Arora remand report in retaliation for the TRS exposing the BJP's attempts to buy TRS MLAs and destabilise the state government.

While stating that she would fully cooperate with the ED in its investigation into the liquor scam and that she was ready to face any inquiry, Kavitha warned the BJP-led government at the Centre against attempting to damage the reputation of TRS leaders through “selective leaks” to the media without any concrete evidence of their involvement. "We're not afraid of anything," she remarked.

In its remand report, the ED had on Wednesday named Kavitha as a key member of the "South Group”, which allegedly paid `100 crore to Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders through businessman Vijay Nair. The group was controlled by Kavitha and Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy, according to the ED.

Kavitha stated that the BJP-led government at the Centre had made it a habit to target Opposition-ruled states by misusing Central agencies before elections. "We've seen it before, and we're seeing it again. Since the BJP came to power at the Centre eight years ago, wherever elections are held, the ED arrives first, before PM Modi. Telangana will hold Assembly elections next year. So, the ED has arrived in Telangana. The BJP's routine strategy is a cheap political gimmick."

She stated that the recent ED, I-T, and CBI cases filed against TRS leaders, including herself, are mere attempts to tarnish the reputation of TRS, and that the BJP's tactics would fail in Telangana, where people are politically conscious. "The BJP is attempting to tarnish the party’s reputation by associating my name with the scam. We have thoroughly exposed the BJP’s plot to destabilise the TRS government, and the people of Telangana have witnessed it. ,” she remarked.

She stated that even if the Modi government arrested and imprisoned her, the TRS would continue to work for the people of Telangana and the country while exposing the failures of the BJP government.

Kavitha later tweeted, "The formation of BRS by CM KCR has rattled the BJP. These tricks of peddling hate, preaching bigotry & practice intimidation won't work with the army of the TRS Party. We are committed to the people of Telangana and nothing can stop us from serving them (sic)."
