“So far, around 1,720 mobile phones worth about Rs 4.35 crore have been recovered over 5 phases under the ‘Mobile Hunt’ programme. Additionally, 35 mobile phones worth around Rs 7 lakh were also recovered and handed over to the victims through the CEIR portal introduced by the Union government”, informed Dr Reddy.

Dr Reddy appealed to the people not to purchase mobile phones without proper bills from sellers to discourage theft and illegal trade of stolen devices. He also informed that the technical wing will recover other stolen or missing mobiles within a short period.

He urged people to lodge complaints of their missing and stolen mobile phones through WhatsApp at ‘9154305600’.
