Khammam: AICC sends team to hunt for leaders
An AICC team was entrusted with the job of identifying committed, discipline and hardcore party leaders from the ground-level.
Khammam: Joining of leaders from other parties and leaders shifting loyalties to other parties, after being elected as MLAs, have forced AICC to identify party leaders from ground- level.
Congress has chosen the present Lok Sabha elections for the scheme.
An AICC team was entrusted with the job of identifying committed, discipline and hardcore party leaders from the ground-level.
Recently, Congress joined with leaders from other parties and gave party tickets in various Assembly constituencies. They shifted loyalties, by leaving the Congress party.
The gesture of these MLAs has been a blow to the image of Congress and it has started analysing the same. The party had good leaders at village and mandal-level. These leaders were not being identified and given suitable positions. These leaders are nothing less than the MLA candidates when compared to discipline and loyalty to party.
AICC teams have been visiting various constituencies and watching the electioneering of Congress in the various Lok Sabha constituencies in the country.
These teams, are not related directly to the party, visit villages and mandal headquarters and identify sincere leaders of the party, who will work with dedication for the party’s victory.
The members of these teams have noted the names of these leaders and produced it to the AICC. Sources said that these leaders will be given priority in future course during elections.
The party was told that many leaders in rural areas have been spending their own money in the elections, without expecting laurels from the party leaders.
“The service of such leaders should be praised and they will be picked up for party posts,” a Congress leader on conditions of anonymity.
Around eight legislators jumped into TRS in the previous Assembly and another eight MLAs in the present Assembly.
This became the worst phenomenon and the party is seriously considering it.
For example, around 3.5 lakh votes will be polled to the party at any time, whoever the party candidate is from Khammam Parliamentary constituency.
Likewise, there are hundreds of party leaders in the field-level to work in favour of the party. These are the real leaders of Congress and the process of identifying them has begun.
