Rajahmundry: YSR Congress nominee for the Assembly seat in Rajahmundry City Routhu Suryaprakasa Rao asked the voters to teach a lesson to Telugu Desam for having failed to fulfil the promises the party had made during last polls.

Taking part in the electioneering at Division Nos. 35, 36 and 39 here on Monday, the YSR Congress nominee asserted that TD had assured the people then to take up the waiver of loans taken under the Dwcra plan. It had advised women not to clear loans three months before the elections were held in 2014.

The government, however, failed to waive the loans even after forming the government in a full-fledged manner.

Recalling the Congress regime led by late YSR Reddy, he said that welfare schemes like fee-reimbursement, Arogya Sri and waiver of loan to Dwcra women were implemented properly then, adding that taking a cue from such good schemes, YSR Congress chief brought out Navaratna schemes for the benefit of all people in the state. He said that in case anyone was supposed to pay more than Rs 1,000 for medical treatment in a hospital, the expenditure incurred would be covered under Arogya Sri scheme providing relief to the patients.
