Bhatti assures to take up issues of panchayat secretaries
HYDERABAD: Congress Legislature Party leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka assured a group of panchayat secretaries, who gave a representation to him, that he would raise the issue of regularisation of their services in the next Assembly session. The panchayat secretaries had told Bhatti that long hours of work, meagre salaries and lack of job security had become a bane for them.
He addressed the secretaries and workers from various walks of life on the 46th day of his padayatra, which coincided with May Day celebrations near Alair. The yatra went through Kolanupaka, Rajanagaram, Dudi Venkatapuram, Raghunathapuram villages.
Explaining the trials and tribulations of beedi workers, Posham Aruna said she hardly made ₹200 after a hard day’s work and they were not getting any pension.
An unemployed youth, Aleri Balaraju, who completed his MSc in Physics from Osmania University, said, “We had participated in the Telangana movement with hopes of getting jobs and leading a better life. The new State has benefitted the KCR family alone and we continue to struggle to make a living.” Balaraju invited the Congress leader to show him his living conditions.
Giving a patient hearing their anguish, the CLP leader promised to address all their concerns once the Congress party, which gave Telangana, comes to power.
Meanwhile, Bhatti paid tributes to heroes of the Telangana armed struggle Arutla Ramachandra Reddy, Arutla Kamala Devi, Arutla Lakshmi Narasimha Reddy, Pagadala Sattaiah, Gottam Ram Reddy, Bellamkonda Madhavulu and others in Kolanupaka. He also paid tributes to B.R. Ambedkar and Babu Jagjivan Ram.
Bhatti participated in the May Day celebrations organised by Telangana State Electricity Employees Union 327 at Alair and hoisted the INTUC flag on the occasion.
