Vijayawada: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said that he is still a soldier, and there are many good leaders to lead the alliance of regional parties at the Centre.

He underscored the need of unity among regional parties to emerge as an alternative force while speaking to mediapersons at the Secretariat here.

Replying to a query on the political resolution taken up in Mahanadu last week, Mr Naidu said Chief Ministers Mamata Banerjee, Naveen Patnaik, Arvind Kejriwal and K. Chandrasekhar Rao should come forward to lead the nation.

He said that given his understanding of national politics, he got offers twice to become Prime Minister. He said that he never expected any position, despite the say that the Telugu Desam had in national politics.

Mr Naidu said issues like bifurcation are still pending before the Supreme Court, and political will alone would solve such issues rather than waiting for a legal solution.

Commenting on the resignation of YSRC MPs, Mr Naidu said there was a conspiracy in not accepting their resignations.

The CM said that had there not been a platform like Nava Nirmana Deeksha, which is held annuallly on June 2, there wouldn’t have been a chance to expose the conspiracies of the Centre. “That’s why I have formulated the Nava Nirmana Deeksha as a movement to sensitise the people about our will and our goals.”

The CM advocated the need for using social media to highlight the achievements of the state government in the last four years. He urged the youth to post their views on the Nava Nirmana Deeksha on their Facebook walls and Twitter pages, with pictures showing development.

The CM will launch Nava Nirmana Deeksha on Saturday at Benz Circle in Vijayawada. Nodal officers will visit 17,697 units during this week-long programme across the state, and unteract with the people directly. The programme will conclude on June 8.
