Modi, Shah and Nadda to address separate public meetings in Telangana this month

HYDERABAD: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union home minister Amit Shah and BJP president J.P. Nadda will soon be making their way to Telangana to address public meetings this month, in what could also be a soft kick-off of the party campaign for the Assembly elections at the year-end.

A senior state BJP leader on Friday said that the top three party leaders had confirmed that they would visit Telangana to address public meetings in three different parliamentary constituencies.

These meetings will be part of the BJP’s ongoing Maha Jan Sampark Abhiyan during which the party plans to reach out to every household to the inform people about the development activities taken up by the Central government, and their implementation — or the lack of it — in Telangana.

While it was confirmed that Modi, Shah and Nadda would visit the state, the dates and the constituencies where the public meetings will be held will be decided soon, the party leader told Deccan Chronicle.

“Shah and Nadda are scheduled to visit Andhra Pradesh to address public meetings in Visakhapatnam and Tirupati on June 8 and 10 respectively, and it is quite possible that they might tie in their Telangana visits around their travel schedule to Andhra Pradesh,” the leader said.

The Telangana BJP, trying to emerge from a series of internal developments that brought to the fore differences among some of its senior leaders, is hoping that the visits of Modi, Shah and Nadda will not only infuse a sense of togetherness but also boost the morale of the cadres who have been in downcast after the BJP’s loss in the Karnataka elections.
