Will hold BRS accountable for unkept promises: Kishan
HYDERABAD: The Bharatiya Janata Party will do its best to hold the BRS government accountable to the promises it made to the people, in the Assembly and Council session beginning on August 3. The BJP will also demand that the government takes proper steps to assist those who have been affected by the floods.
State BJP president and Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy on Tuesday met with party MLAs Etala Rajendar, M. Raghunandan Rao, and MLC A.V.N. Reddy at the party office to discuss the issues that the BJP legislators will raise and speak about, and the party strategy in the ensuring Legislature session.
Goshamahal MLA T. Raja Singh, who had won on a BJP ticket but was suspended from the party last year, did not attend the meeting.
Though the BJP has two MLAs in the Assembly, it is not clear if the party will appoint a floor leader given that the ensuing session could be the last for the state Legislature before elections to the Assembly are held later this year. Though the Dubbak MLA Raghunandan Rao was interested in the position, it was not certain as on Tuesday whether the BJP leadership will announce a floor leader, given that the other party MLA, Rajendar is a senior in the Legislature.
Asked about this issue, Raghunandan Rao told reporters that the party will take a decision on the issue.
