VISAKHAPATNAM: Telugu Desam and YSRC leaders and activists are likely to have a face off on October 6, the day after Dasara, when AP Crime Investigation Department (APCID) police has threatened to arrest TD's former minister Ayyanna Patrudu's son Chintakayala Vijay in cybercrime cases.

In this context, the CID served notices to Vijay under Criminal Procedure Code 41-A at his residence in Banjara Hills of Hyderabad on Saturday. It notified that Vijay should appear before the CID at its office in Mangalagiri on October 6 at 10:30 a.m.

A warning notice has also been served on Vijay that in case of his non-appearance, he will be arrested under Section 41A (3), (4) of CRPC.

According to CID officials, cases have been booked against Vijay under various sections, including 419, 469, 15 (a), 505 (2) and 120 (b) of the Indian Penal Code. Cybercrime police of CID have asked Vijay to submit all his phone numbers, mobile phones, ID proof and address proof before the CID police on October 6.

Cases have been registered against Vijay in connection with morphing the video of YSRC MP Gorantla Madhav of Hindupur. Vijay is one of the active team members of iTDP, the social media platform of the Telugu Desam Party.

Responding to Saturday’s notices to Vijay in Hyderabad, TD leaders said police harassed the inmates of Vijay’s house, including his children, to reveal the whereabouts of their father. Vijay’s father Ayyanna Patrudu said that Jagan Mohan Reddy government is trying to suppress the voice of those people who speak against the mismanagement by state government.

"How can CID officials arrive at Vijay house without giving prior notice? The day is not far when people will revolt against Jagan," Ayyanna Patrudu stated.
