Vijayawada: Ministers Karumuri Nageswara Rao, Jogi Ramesh and Merugu Nagarjuna have promised  the people that Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy would do more good to the people, introduce more welfare schemes and hasten development of AP.

They stated this during the YSRC bike, car and bus rally as part of the Samjika Sadhikara Yatra at Avanigadda on Thursday. MPs Nandigam Suresh and Mopidevi Venkataramana and legislators Perni Venkataramaiah alias Nani and Kaile Anil Kumar were also present.

Every inch of space at the public meeting venue and the roads through which the rally passed in Avanigadda was filled with people. Echoes of ‘Jai Jagan’ and ‘Samajika Sadhikarata’ slogans raised by the YSRC rank and file rent the air.

Civil supplies minister Karumuri Nageswara Rao said, “Jagan Reddy is the only CM in the country who has provided benefits of welfare schemes to all regardless of party, caste and religion.”

According to the BC Declaration, 136 castes were identified and 56 corporations were given to these communities. “Did Chandrababu ever promote the cause of social justice? Did he send any BC leader to the Rajya Sabha? Some 70 per cent of the Jagan cabinet is composed of  members from the SC, ST, BC and Minorities. They number 17.”

Nageswara Rao said Chandrababu used Yadavas as his vote bank.

“Poverty in AP has come down from 12 to 6 per cent through direct benefit transfer (DBT) of funds from welfare schemes. This shows what social justice is all about,” he said.

Nageswara Rao said Jagan Mohan Reddy as CM has spent '65,000 crore in four years for the education of poor children. “Jagan said doctors and engineers should come from poor families, only then will social justice be achieved,” he noted.

Social welfare minister Merugu Nagarjuna said legendary leaders like Babasaheb Ambedkar, Jyotira Phule, Sahu Maharaj, Periyar Ramaswamy, Babu Jagjivan Ram and Maulana Abul Kalam Azad started movements to end social inequalities. “CM Jagan put those ideas into practice and unleashed a social revolution in AP like never before.”

“After Jagan Mohan Reddy became the CM, he is giving corporate-quality medicine to every poor person who has a ration card.”

Minister Nagarjuna added, ”Our CM has given CBSE syllabus and corporate education to poor students, improved schools and built 31 lakh houses for the poor.”

Housing minister Jogi Ramesh said no chief minister of any state has followed manav dharma. Jagan Anna is the only CM who followed the ideals of social justice and manav dharma.”

MP Mopidevi Venkataramana said BCs got minister post, BC sisters became ZP chairpersons, Meruga Nagarjuna became a minister and Nandigam Suresh became MP, all because of Jagan Reddy. “Jagan gave 50 per cent reservations to BCs, SCs, STs and minorities. Chandrababu gav Rajya Sabha seats against a collection of '100 crore.”
