CPI protests Uttarandhra development's impact on healthcare access
Visakhapatnam: The Communist Party of India (CPI) Visakha Zilla Samithi staged a protest at the main gate of Visakha Medical Science Institute (VIM’S) against the ongoing Uttarandhra development plan, expressing concerns that it could negatively affect healthcare access for the underprivileged.
CPI district secretary M. Paidiraju criticised the state government's decision to establish camp offices and quarters for officials in VIM’S Hospital, arguing that it could hinder the accessibility of medical treatment for the local populace. He emphasised the need for a revaluation of the Uttarandhra development plan, prioritising healthcare over bureaucratic accommodations.
Paidiraju also highlighted the delay in allocating funds for the development of VIM’S and the King George Hospital (KGH) in Visakha, asserting that this delay is causing medical issues for the people of North Andhra.
