U Thaniyarasu, S Karunas, Thamimun Ansari call on Edappadi K Palaniswami

An official release on Tuesday said the three legislators met the CM at his camp office.

Chennai: Kangeyam legislator U. Thaniyarasu, who heads the Kongu Ilaignar Peravai, actor S. Karunas, representing Thiruvadanai constituency and Nagapattinam MLA M. Thamimun Ansari of Manithaneya Jananayaga Katchi, who had extended support to TTV  Dhinakaran, called on Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami on Tuesday.

An official release on Tuesday said the three legislators met the CM at his camp office and thanked him for sanctioning Rs 10 crore towards establishing the Tamil Chair at Harvard University in the US, besides announcing to take steps to releases life convicts who served over 10 years in state prisons in connection with MGR centenary on humanitarian grounds as per norms. The three MLAs had won on AIADMK ticket. While Thaniyarasu had opposed the disqualification of pro-T. T. V. Dhinarakan MLAs by Assembly Speaker P. Dhanapal, Karunas, emerged as another supporter of Dhinakaran.

Mr. Thaniyarasu, Mr. Ansari and Mr. S. Karunaas have not been supporting the ruling AIADMK government openly and they had even called on DMK working president M.K. Stalin last year.
