Telangana HC order on Singareni compensation
Though the compensation amount was cleared in 2014-15, revenue officials and the judge had not permitted disbursal of the amount.
Hyderabad: Angered by the negligence of subordinate courts, the Telangana High Court on Wednesday directed the district judge of Khammam Court to submit a report on disbursement of compensation to those whose land had been acquired for Singareni Collieries.
A division bench comprising Chief Justice Thottathil B. Radhakrishnan and Justice A. Raja Sekhar Reddy was hearing a plea of Mr C.B. Vithalaiah seeking a direction to the revenue authorities and the Khammam district court to disburse his compensation amount with interest following the verdict of the Lok Adalat bench at Khammam in 2016. Ms B. Rachana Reddy, counsel for the petitioner, said that the 5.21-acre parcel of land owned by Mr Vithalaiah in Kommepally, Khammam district was acquired for Singareni Collieries.
Though the compensation amount was cleared in 2014-15, revenue officials and the judge had not permitted disbursal of the amount. He had secured a verdict from the Lok Adalat which, too, was not implemented.
