SM Krishna will repent his decision in the coming days: KPCC President
KPCC working prez Dinesh Gundu Rao slams ex-CM for claiming Cong benefits & now saying he was ill-treated.
Bengaluru: Upping the ante against former CM S.M. Krishna for quitting the Congress, Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) Working President Dinesh Gundu Rao said Mr Krishna would repent his decision in the coming days.
"Mr Krishna enjoyed every dish he got from the party all these years and suddenly yelled at one just because the curd was sour", Mr Dinesh said trying to prove his point that the former union minister enjoyed all benefits that he received from the party and was now saying that he was 'ill-treated'. According to me, it is a bad decision of Mr Krishna for which he will repent in the coming days".
Talking to reporters here on Thursday, Mr Dinesh said it was unfortunate for him that he had to talk against Mr Krishna, one of the tallest and most respected leaders in the Congress Party. Many party workers/leaders who were loyal to the party don't get so many opportunities as Mr Krishna got from the party all these years. "I don't know anything regarding the BJP offering him the post of vice-president of the country. I would not like to talk about him anymore as it was the individual decision of Mr Krishna to resign from the primary membership".
Asked about the impact on the Congress in Vokkaliga dominated districts like Mandya, Mysuru, Chamarajanagar and Ramanagar following Mr Krishna's exit from the party, he said many leaders have come and gone in the past but the Congress party had remained intact. In fact, there would be no impact on the party prospects since there were many leaders to fill up the gap. "I have no information on sidelining of Mr Krishna in the party as he used to talk to only the president or vice-president of the Congress".
On seven suspended JD(S) legislators joining Congress, Mr Dinesh said no disgruntled JD(S) legislator was in touch with Congress leaders but unofficially they were in constant touch with them. "I and Mr Zameer Ahmed Khan belong to adjoining assembly constituencies and we are in touch always. But nothing has been discussed about they joining the Congress as they are still in JD(S) (facing inquiry for the cross-voting in the Council and Rajya Sabha polls last year).
Adagur slams ex-boss: No one’s indispensable
Former MP Adagur H. vishwanath said no one is indispensable in the Congress “but the Congress is indispensable for all of us, be it Mr S.M. Krishna or Siddaramaiah or Kagodu Thimmappa or myself. There is no limit for one's age but politicians must have limits," he said while speaking to mediapersons here on Thursday.
Coming down heavily on S.M. Krishna, he said, "Mr Krishna's statement that he was hurt and his respect was at stake, gives many hints. Even Mr Krishna was not basically from the Congress, yet he has enjoyed all positions, except the post of President and Prime Minister. Mr Srinivasprasad too became MP, MLA and State Minister being in Congress. Mr Janardhan Poojary and Mr Sharif are all like the heart of Congress, yet, it is quite sad they are all commenting about the state of Congress affairs, " he said.
Expressing displeasure over Mr Sharif calling the government a Kuruba government, he said, "If he has something to say about Mr Siddaramaiah he should speak about him or blame him, why should he blame the Kuruba community. Even I am a Kuruba. How many from the Kuruba community became ministers Mr Sharif? I did not like Mr Sharif speaking about caste," he said.
