VIJAYAWADA: Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan on Thursday demanded an explanation from AP over apprehensions raised by YSR Congress MLA Anam Ramnarayana Reddy that his life is under threat.

The JS chief demanded that the director general of police himself take the responsibility of providing adequate protection to the legislator from Venkatagiri in the Nellore district.

He charged that politics of revenge has peaked in the state under YSRC’s rule. Ruling party legislators themselves are complaining of threats to their lives and tapping of phones. “What will be the fate of other public representatives,” Pawan Kalyan asked.

He maintained that Anam Ramnarayana Reddy had expressed his concern over developmental works not being undertaken in his constituency and about the style of functioning of the government. This is the reason why YSR Congress regime has trimmed the legislator’s security cover.

The Jana Sena president warned that if the AP DGP does not take responsibility and provide proper protection to Anam Ramnarayana Reddy, he will take up the matter with the union home ministry, explaining the dire situation prevailing in the state.

Referring to another ruling party MLA Kotam Sridhar Reddy’s allegations against Chief Minister’s Office about phone tapping, Pawan Kalyan asked why the DGP and home department have not responded to charges of the two ruling party legislators.
