MLC Kavitha’s protest in Delhi is ridiculous, says Prabhakar
HYDERABAD: BJP state vice-president N.V.S.S. Prabhakar, the former Uppal MLA, ridiculed Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao’s daughter, BRS MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha’s plan to hold a protest in Delhi demanding that the Centre introduce the Women’s Reservation Bill in parliament.
She has never uttered a single word on the increasing incidents of atrocities on women in Telangana during last nine years, Prabhakar alleged. He accused Kavitha of not encouraging women empowerment in her own party.
Speaking to reporters at the state party headquarters Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Bhavan on Friday, Prabhakar said that a minor girl was raped in state capital and two girl students, one doing her medical PG and another her engineering course, had died by suicide after ragging. But Kavitha had not bothered to console their families nor condemned the incidents, he alleged.
He said the proposed protest was meant to derive sympathy as the investigations into the Delhi liquor scam case, in which Kavitha has been named as a candidate, have picked up pace. Prabhakar alleged that Kavitha was a mastermind in the scam.
On the government approaching the Supreme Court over the Governor not approving Bills, Prabhakar said the BRS government was trying to give a political colour to every issue. He said Raj Bhavan was within walking distance of Pragathi Bhavan but the Chief Minister had never gone over to short out issues amicably.
Condemning the protests of ministers on the LPG price rise, Prabhakar claimed that the BRS government has increased the price of electricity, water, property tax and bus charges.
