Private managements directed to permit their employees to cast vote in AP MLC polls

VIJAYAWADA: Chief electoral officer Mukesh Kumar Meena directed all managements of business, trade and industrial undertakings to provide necessary facilities to their employees/workers to enable them to cast their vote in the MLC polls on March 13 from 8 am to 4 pm.

In a statement issued here on Thursday, the CEO said that the Election Commission of India announced the schedule for the conduct of the biennial elections to the AP Legislative Council from three graduates’ constituencies, two teachers’ constituencies and eight local authorities’ constituencies and polling to be held on March 13.

Employees and workers who registered as voters in the above-mentioned constituencies should be permitted to attend office late, adjustment of shift duty and a short absence from duty hours to be permitted to enable them to exercise their franchise on the polling day of March 13.
