Kerala: MLA gets earful for doublespeak'
Netizens morphed several movie dialogues and movie incidents connecting the incident
Kochi: When Mr T.N. Prathapan openly stated some time ago that he would not contest in the election making way for youngsters, the social media hailed him and celebrated his Facebook posts as a hero.
On Saturday the news of Mr Prathapan sending an e-mail to Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi seeking Kaipamangalam seat in Thrissur went viral and the whole social media pounced on him. Netizens alleged double standards by Mr Prathapan for seeking a seat. Trolls and memes were doing the round on WhatsApp and Facebook.
Mr Prathapan later in the day denied sending a letter and announced that he won’t be contesting from any seat. Last week, he had criticised Mr Adoor Prakash for his alleged role in the Santhosh Madhavan land deal. Netizens dug out that old post and criticised Mr Prathapan and termed him ‘fake.’
Netizens morphed several movie dialogues and movie incidents connecting the incident. “Just like any other politician Prathapan also is hungry for power. He just wants to contest and win,” a post read.
