KCR yet to finalise date for public meeting in Sagar bypoll, ahead of MLA seat
The CM had avoided campaigning for the Dubbak Assembly bypoll which the TRS lost to the BJP by a slender margin
Hyderabad: TRS president and Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao's proposed public meeting in the Nagarjunasagar Assembly constituency for the bypoll campaign is likely to be held on April 10 or 14, the two dates proposed by party leaders of Nalgonda district. The CM’s approval is awaited.
Nalgonda district incharge minister G. Jagadish Reddy said, “We are ready to hold the CM’s meeting any day from the second week.”
However, there are doubts over whether the meeting will be held, due to the increasing Coronavirus cases and the Covid-related restrictions on public gatherings until April 30.
Party working president and IT minister K.T. Rama Rao will campaign in the constituency in April second week. Party leaders have planned his road shows for two days covering all the six mandals of the constituency.
The CM had launched the party's campaign by addressing a huge public meeting in Halia on February 10. Party leaders want him to address another meeting ahead of polling on April 17.
The CM had avoided campaigning for the Dubbak Assembly bypoll which the TRS lost to the BJP by a slender margin.
In the meeting held with Nalgonda party leaders in Telangana Bhavan after issuing the B-form to Nomula Bhagat last week, Chandrashekar Rao had stated that the Dubbak result would have been different had he campaigned there. He had assured the party leaders that he and Rama Rao would campaign in Nagarjunasagar.
