Karnataka CM's daughter-in-law, stars, thinkers, poets bat for Siddaramiaah

Ms Smitha is the first woman in the CM's family to campaign.

Mysuru: In a first in the Siddaramiaah family, Ms Smitha Rakesh, wife of late Rakesh Siddaramaiah, campaigned for her father-in-law and the CM in Chamundeswari constituency here on Wednesday.

Mr Siddaramaiah’s wife Ms Parvathi has so far never come out in public or participated in any  public function and Ms Smitha is the first woman in the CM’s family to campaign. She met voters at Giridarshini and Alanahalli layouts in Chamundeswari.

Meanwhile,  progressive thinkers and poets including Marulasiddappa, S G Siddaramaiah and Hindulida Vargagala Vedike president K Shivram,  launched a second round of campaigning for the CM in Chamundeswari along with actors Jayamala, Mukyamanthri Chandru and others on Wednesday.  

They campaigned in Ekalavyanagar, Shyadanahalli and Siddalingapura. Actor Yash did a double-he batted for JD(S) candidate Sa Ra Mahesh in KR Nagar in the morning and backed BJP candidate S.A. Ramdas in KR constituency in Mysuru in the evening, while appealing to people to choose candidates who are pro-development no matter which party they belong to.
