M Vincent's plan for Kovalam
M. Vincent MLA says Vizhinjam international transhipment terminal will help the local community.
Thiruvananthapuram: M. Vincent, the newly elected Congress MLA from the Kovalam constituency who defeated incumbent Jameela Prakasham of the Janata Dal (Secular) said his primary focus would be on addressing the core developmental issues.
Mr Vincent told Deccan Chronicle that the constituency was facing severe water shortage, a reality not only on the sea coasts but in the interior regions. Another problem is water logging. “During the rainy season, people in the constituency could not even step out of their homes,” Mr Vincent said.
He said then there were issues relating to hospitals. Perhaps, it will be the only constituency where no hospital got upgraded. It pins a high hope on the Vizhinjam international transhipment terminal. “The local community will benefit from the project," Mr Vincent said.
