TRS killing democratic rights in the state : Ponnam
Prabhakar said that the people would teach a fitting lesson to the TRS for autocratic rule in the state
Karimnagar: Congress party leaders are arrested without any reason whenever the IT minister K.T. Rama Rao visits any area in the state. Ponnam Prabhakar, a former Congress MP, alleged in a statement issued here in Karimnagar on Thursday.
The Congress party leaders across the state celebrated the Telangana Formation Day, by giving milk baths to the flexies and portraits of Sonia Gandhi in gratitude for giving a separate Telangana state.
In part of the celebrations when the Congress party leaders were giving a milk bath to the flexies of Sonia Gandhi in Sircilla, the police illegally arrested them and shifted them to the police station, he said.
He added, “Is Sircilla a disturbed area? Why are the Congress leaders arrested, whenever minister for IT K Taraka Rama Rao visits the district to participate in various official programmes?”
Flaying the undemocratic attitude of the police, Prabhakar said that the people would teach a fitting lesson to the TRS for autocratic rule in the state.
He said that the TRS government had not changed its attitude and illegally arrested the Congress leaders, whenever the TRS minister visited any place in the state.
He said that the Congress party would approach the court against the illegal arrest of the Congress leaders frequently and suppress their democratic rights and demanded their immediate release.
