KAKINADA: Roads and Buildings department officials have started patchworks on the bypass road at Razole in the aftermath of Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan’s warning at a public meeting.

Addressing public meetings during his Varahi yatra, Pawan Kalyan had warned that if the government cannot develop the road within two weeks, Jana Sena cadres will do so. He commented that the road is so bad that one cannot even walk on the road.

The JS president said people are afraid of what will happen during the rainy season, when the road is not clearly visible.

To start with, R&B officials have taken up patch works over a 400-metre stretch of the road.

Konaseema district R&B executive engineer B. Ramu told Deccan Chronicle that they have started the works on Sunday and the stretch will be patched up within two days. He said proposals have been sent to the government to develop the Razole bypass as a cement concrete road at a cost of ₹1 crore. The patchworks are only temporary.

People of Razole constituency have thanked Pawan Kalyan as well as the government for starting the works. They requested the government to sanction ₹1 crore, so that they will get a permanent road.
