CPM refutes actor Sreenivasan's speech
Radhakrishnan has reacted strongly against the controversial speech on political violence and murder by actor Sreenivasan.
Thrissur: CPM district secretary and former Assembly speaker K. Radhakrishnan has reacted strongly against the controversial speech on political violence and murder by actor Sreenivasan here on Sunday during a book release function.
He told DC said that Sreenivasan’s statement was uncalled for and may have been prompted to get publicity. “Azhikodan Raghavan, who was murdered in Thrissur, Com. Kunjali, who was killed in Nilamboor and several others who were murdered across the country for upholding party principles were not party cadres,” he said.
As far as CPM is considered, the party did not let its cadres die for leaders, he said adding that party leaders like E P Jayarajan and P Jayarajan escaped death because of sheer luck.
“The major concerns shared by the public are about the incidents of beating up dalits in Gujarat for selling the skin of dead cows and the attack carried out on women, who carried beef in Madhya Pradesh. But, the actor is mum on such burning issues,” Radhakrishnan said.
