Rs 5 lakh sanctioned under Dalit Bandu security fund

KARIMNAGAR: For the first time, the state government has sanctioned Rs 5 lakh from the Dalit Bandhu security fund to a beneficiary who faced a loss due to arson at her medical diagnostic lab. Her lab in Huzurabad town had been gutted due to shortcircuit.
The beneficiary, Guggilla Swarnalatha, a native of Jupaka village, opened a medical diagnostic lab at a private hospital under the Dalit Bandhu scheme. Medical equipment worth Rs 5 lakh was gutted in the fire.
District collector Karnan along with the Zilla Parishad CEO Priyanka went and inspected the sport and later handed over a cheque for Rs 5 lakh from the Dalit Bandhu security fund for re-establishment of the unit.
Karnan said the aim of Dalit Bandhu was not only to encourage entrepreneurship among the dalit community but also help them and support them if they faced any loss in their business. Through the Dalit Bandhu security fund, this could be done, he said.
Later, the Collector visited various Dalit Bandu units in Huzurabad town and inquired with those who ran them about how things were progressing.
