BRS Senior Leader Welcomes 'One Nation-One Election' Proposal, Calls for Debate
HYDERABAD: Welcoming the ‘one nation-one election’ proposal, BRS senior leader B. Vinod Kumar said the party had expressed its view the National Law Commission in 2018. "We did not discuss the latest development on the front with Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao,” he said.
Even so, he said Prime Minister Narendra Modi was confusing the people and political parties by conducting a special Parliament session. No one had any idea on what it would be about, he said. Vinod Kumar, vice-chairman of the TS Planning Board, said the Centre must conduct a debate about simultaneous elections.
With regard to the panel headed by former President Ram Nath Kovind, he said there was no opportunity for southern states on the committee; all the members were from north India. “It is nothing but humiliation.”
