MRPS demands categorisation of SC Bill in Parliament
MRPS on on Saturday demanded that the centre should introduce a Bill on SC categorisation during the special session of Parliament
Hyderabad: Manda Krishna Madiga, head of the Madiga Reservation Porata Samithi (MRPS), on Saturday demanded that the Centre should introduce a Bill on categorisation of reservations for the Scheduled Caste communities during the special session of Parliament called from September 18.
To press his demand, he called for a 'Chalo Delhi' protest and said that MRPS activists would hold a protest at Jantar Mantar in the Capital.
Speaking to media persons on Saturday, Krishna Madiga said: "I request all political parties in the Telugu states to extend their support to introduce the Bill on SC categorisation. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had promised us SC categorisation. We will ask AICC president Mallikarjuna Kharge to extend support."
He said that thousands of MRPS activists, including from Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu, would attend dharna at Jantar Mantar on September 18, when the session commences. He said MRPS activists would hold similar protests at mandal headquarters.
On September 19, the Madiga professors, intellectuals, and employees would take part in a protest programme at Jantar Mantar in Delhi. The MRPS cultural teams, writers, poets would take part in protests on September 20, 21 and 22 at all places in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
