'Unstoppable' TD poised to regain power: Naidu
Telugu Desam chief N. Chandrababu Naidu expressed hope that the party is going to win in the upcoming polls
Kakinada: Former chief minister and Telugu Desam chief N. Chandrababu Naidu said that the party’s victory in the upcoming Assembly elections was certain as it is unstoppable. He said that there will be no hike of power charges and people could enjoy quality power, once the party is back in power.
Addressing party’s Zone-II meeting, covering 36 Assembly constituencies in erstwhile East and West Godavari districts here on Saturday, he said that it is a foregone conclusion that the YSRC will be given a sound drubbing. He said that there will be no brakes to the cycle while hitting the winning post.
He said that when the TD got 23 seats in the 2019 elections, the ruling party MLAs mocked the TD, but now the GO has boomeranged on them. He said that Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy would go home after the elections. He said that Dalits and BCs were overwhelmingly in his party’s favour.
Naidu cautioned the people that if they re-elect YSRC, the power bill will touch '4,000 for what is now coming to around '400. The price of a liquor bottle that is '60 today will shoot up '500.
He exhorted the party cadre to thoroughly check the voter list.
He said that Jagan Mohan Reddy did not impose prohibition because that is his main revenue source. He said that every girl who crosses 18 years of age would be given '1,500 per month and women will get to travel free of cost in APSRTC buses.
He said the TD would bring a special law for protecting BCs. He said that during the TD regime, several lift irrigation projects were constructed at a cost of '68,000 crore and provided water to Krishna and Rayalaseema also along with Godavari districts. He said if the people had re-elected TD in 2019, he would have completed all projects at a cost of '78,000 crore.
He called upon the cadre to explain all issues to the people and work towards ensuring a TD win.
While the party’s Kakinada district president Jyothula Naveen Kumar presided over the meeting, senior leaders K. Atchannaidu, Nimmakayala Chinarajappa, Nimmala Ramanaidu, Gorantla Buchaiah Chowdary, Vegulla Jogeswara Rao, Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, Prathipati Pulla Rao and Bandaru Satyanarayana Murthy graced the occasion.
Meanwhile, the 93 BC Aikhya Vedika president Makireddy Bhaskar Ganesh appealed to Naidu to allot four Assembly seats to the BCs in Kakinada district. He submitted a representation toward this to Naidu on Saturday. He said that the BCs are in large numbers in Kakinada, Kakinada Rural, Tuni and Prathipadu.
He said that during the TD regime, green tax was at Rs 200, but it is now at Rs 6,000. Naidu will decrease the green tax, after he comes to power.
