HYDERABAD: The BRS government will “look into” the possibility of speeding up the progress in the cash-for-vote case involving Telangana Congress president A. Revanth Reddy, BRS MLC and president of the Rythu Bandhu Samithi has said.

Answering questions at a press conference, where he called the TPCC president a “broker and a joker,” Rajeshwar Reddy said the law would take its own course. Asked when was the last time the government had requested the courts to speed up the hearings, he said, “We will look into it.”

Speaking along with government whip M.S. Prabhakar, he described Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao as “Telangana Gandhi” who had imbibed the Mahatma’s deals and implemented them.  “Our inspiration is Gandhi. The BJP gets inspiration from Godse. There are fake Gandhis in the Congress,” he said.

He accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of lying in Mahbubnagar that not a drop of water was reaching farmers. “If that is so, how did Centre’s grain procurement in Telangana rise from Rs 3,400 crores in 2014 to Rs 27,000 crores,” he asked. The BRS leader said Modi had merely read a script provided by his party leaders from the state
