Hyderabad: Union minister and Telangana BJP chief G. Kishan Reddy on Tuesday hailed Prime Minister Narendra Modi for progress in the power sector and ending power holidays by providing continuous electricity to industries, as well as the agriculture sector.

Speaking at the Nizamabad meeting of the Prime Minister, after Modi inaugurated several projects, Kishan Reddy said: “Industries had to put up with power holidays earlier, but not anymore. A new 800 MW power project by the NTPC is being dedicated to the nation now to serve farmers and the industrial sector. There are no power cuts in any state now.”

Listing achievements by the Centre in the health sector, he said: “People are receiving services under Aayushman Bharat and National Health Mission. We successfully fought back Coronavirus, which shook the world, by giving two doses of the vaccine to 140 crore of our people.”

Kishan Reddy sought to highlight the Centre providing free ration to 84 crore people. He said that the turmeric board, a long-pending demand, was fulfilled for farmers’ welfare.

“The state for which many sacrifices were made has fallen victim to a family. People are saying enough is enough to KCR. They are against the family rule of KCR and Congress and are looking towards the BJP to fulfil their aspirations. A vote for the Congress will benefit the BRS as they go and join them after winning. Congress has colluded with the AIMIM and is attacking the BJP to curtail its growth. BRS and Congress are ridden by corruption,” Kishan Reddy said.

Taking to X (Twitter), Kishan Reddy flagged a video from Siddipet in which state minister T. Harish Rao and MP Kotha Prabhakar Reddy were reportedly seen amongst a crowd indulging in vandalism.

He wrote: “Minister in the BRS government and a MP from the same party, vandalizing an official function - where developmental projects were to be inaugurated by the PM. Strongly condemn the acts of violence and irresponsible behavior in an official function. Insecurity and frustration creeping-in among the BRS party as the support and trust of people in Telangana for PM Modi and BJP is evident and increasing. (sic)”
