PM Modi Inaugurates Over Rs 8,000 Crore Worth of Development Projects in Nizamabad
Nizamabad: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday laid the foundation stone for a slew of developmental works and dedicated to the nation projects, all amounting to over Rs 8,000 crore, across key sectors of power, transport and health in Nizamabad.
The works comprised the dedication of an 800-MW unit under Telangana Super Thermal Power Project Phase-1 of NTPC, a new railway line connecting Manoharabad and Siddipet, and an electrification project on the Dharmabad-Manoharabad and Mahbubnagar-Kurnool routes.
Modi laid the foundation stone for 20 Critical Care Blocks (CCBs) across the state under the Pradhan Mantri Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission. He later flagged off a Siddipet-Secunderabad-Siddipet train service as well.
After undertaking the inaugurations through virtual mode, the Prime Minister congratulated Telangana for the projects. He said that the development of a nation or state depends upon its capacity for self-reliance in electricity production, for ease of living and ease of doing business, simultaneously.
He said that the Telangana Super Thermal Power Plant is the most modern power plant to be set up by the NTPC in the country. “The major part of electricity produced in this power plant will go to the people of Telangana,” the Prime Minister said.
The Prime Minister said that the government was working to fulfil the energy demands of Telangana.
He recalled laying the foundation stone for the power plant in 2016 and highlighted the Centre’s propensity to complete projects that are launched. “This is the new work culture of our government,” he said.
He also said, dedicating the Hassan–Cherlapalli LPG pipeline, that it would become the basis of LPG transformation, transportation and distribution in a cost-effective and eco-friendly manner.
Touching upon the health sector, the Prime Minister said that during the Covid-19 pandemic, 50 large PSA oxygen plants were set up in the state that played a key role in saving lives. “More than 5,000 Ayushman Bharat health and wellness centres are already functional to increase health facilities in Telangana,” he said.
Telangana Governor Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan, Union minister and TS BJP president G. Kishan Reddy, and state minister for roads and buildings V. Prashanth Reddy were present.
