HYDERABAD: The BJP candidate in the Munugode byelection, Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy, is the only one among the three main candidates in contention who could not vote on Thursday.

While his main rivals Kusukuntla Prabhakar Reddy of the TRS and Palvai Sravanthi of the Congress are registered as voters in the Munugode constituency, and exercised their franchise, Rajgopal Reddy limited himself to visiting polling stations. He is registered as a voter in Nakrekal constituency, and had not transferred his vote to the Munugode constituency.

Pictures of him purportedly casting his vote made the rounds after a post on his Twitter handle suggested he did, and were promptly questioned by TRS followers who said he was not a registered voter in Munugode. The tweet was deleted soon after it started receiving increasing attention from other political parties.
