NCP\'s Supriya Sule Demands Swift Action on Sunil Tatkare\'s Disqualification Petition
MUMBAI: NCP working president from the Sharad Pawar faction, Supriya Sule on Friday wrote a letter to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla in connection with a disqualification petition against Sunil Tatkare for alleged anti-party activities. Sule had filed the petition in July 2023, but no action had been initiated against the Lok Sabha MP. In a separate letter, the Sharad Pawar faction has urged Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankar not to further delay in the adjudication of the disqualification petitions filed against Praful Patel.
Tatkare, who joined the Ajit Pawar faction, said that he has already filed a disqualification petition against Supriya Sule, Shrinivas Patil, and Mohammed Faizal and wanted the Speaker to take action on it earliest. He also claimed that Amol Kolhe is with them. However, Kolhe has refuted the claim stating he is still with the party founder Sharad Pawar.
Posting a letter on her X account, Sule said that the disqualification petition was filed on July 4, 2023. She demanded that there should be no further delay in the disqualification petition against Tatkare. “I had filed a Disqualification Petition on 4 July 2023 seeking the disqualification of Sunil Tatkare under the Tenth Schedule of the Constitution of India. It’s been 4 months with no action taken. The delinquent MP’s actions are a blatant attack on the Tenth Schedule & the Hon’ble Supreme Court has directed timely resolution of such petitions to uphold the Constitution & democratic principles in true spirit. I request no further delay in adjudicating the petition please (sic),” she said.
