Mumbai: NCP Chief Sharad Pawar on Sunday said that Assembly results of four states will not have any impact on the grand alliance of the opposition parties. The NCP chief, who is a part of INDIA bloc comprising more than 25 parties, said that they would analyse the results on Tuesday at Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge’s residence in New Delhi.

Mr. Pawar said that the Congress-led government was there in Rajasthan for the last five years and the people decided to give opportunity to new people. Rajasthan has been following this trend for many years, he said.

No political party has retained power in Rajasthan for the last 25 years.

Over the victory of Congress party in Telangana, Sharad Pawar said that Rahul Gandhi had held a meeting in Hyderabad. “After seeing the crowd in this meeting, we were sure that there would be a change of regime in Telangana,” he said.

When asked whether this result will have an impact on INDIA bloc, Mr Pawar said that the election results are leaning in favour of the BJP. “However, I do not think that the assembly election results will have any adverse impact on the India bloc. We will hold a meeting at the residence of Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge on Tuesday. The result will be analyzed in this meeting,” Mr. Pawar said.

The INDIA bloc was formed to take on the ruling BJP in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls. Interestingly after the first meeting in Patna, Sharad Pawar’s nephew Ajit Pawar led NCP faction had allied with the BJP and joined the Eknath Shinde-led government in Maharashtra in July.
