Qamaruddin heads panel for minorities
The term of the commission was fixed at three years from the date of assuming charge.

Hyderabad: The TS government on Wednesday constituted the seven-member State Minorities Commission.
Mr Mohammed Qamaruddin was appointed chairman and Mr Rajarapu Pratap as vice-chairperson. Mr Mohammed Arshad Ali Khan, Dr Vidya Sravanthi, Mr Gusti Noria, Mr Bommala Kattaiah and Mr Surendra Singh were appointed members.
The term of the commission was fixed at three years from the date of assuming charge. Mr Qamaruddin, who retired as engineer-in-chief, said he was committed to protecting the minority communities.
The previouis commission, headed by Mr Abid Rasool Khan, was appointed in 2013 by the Congress government. I ran through rough weather before ending its term in 2017.
